Emergency Procedures

Basic First Aid Kit:
- Bandaids
- Ibuprofen
- Alcohol swabs/disinfectant
- Iodine/bleach
- Gauze
- Duct Tape


What to do in the event of an emergency:


For minor emergencies, including:
- large cuts with controlled bleeding
- animal bite
- broken bone, still conscious
- large 2nd degree burn, 3rd degree smaller than a quarter size

For major emergencies, including:
- uncontrolled bleeding
- head, face, neck, injury
- unconsciousness
- shock
- lightning strike
- hip, femur, skull, or back break
- open bone break
- 3rd degree burn bigger than quarter

When to evacuate: 
If the injured member of your party cannot continue the hike without furthering their injury, experiencing extreme pain, or risking infection, you must evacuate to the nearest trailhead.
